Reflexology helps the body to restore its balance naturally. Usually, after a treatment tension may be reduced and the client might feel relaxed. Aiding better quality sleep, mood and sense of wellbeing improved. Other aspects improve too; however, this happens on an individual basis.
During a typical reflexology session a detailed lifeystyle/health history will be taken. The client will be asked to remove footwear and sessions are usually performed in a comfortable chair or couch. A visual and tactile examination of the feet will be taken before beginning the reflexology treatment. Appropriate pressure is applied to the feet using the thumb and fingers.
Reflexology can be a wonderfully relaxing experience where the client can take time out from everyday stressors. The therapy can help with relaxation which can help improve mood, aid sleep and relieve tension. The result is an overall sense of wellbeing.
It is not advisable to take alcohol or unprescribed drugs in the 24 hours before or after the treatment takes place. It is possible that the liver and kidneys could be affected. The treatment will aid these organs to release toxins and they will have more to cope with if there are drugs or alcohol in the clients' system.
Some people with conditions such as cancer will need to obtain consent from their GP before any treatment can take place. Please contact us for any further advice.
